PARADES FOR FIAC / DANIEL LINEHAN – NOT ABOUT EVERYTHING

Daniel Linehan’s choreography softly obscures the line separating dance from everything else, while searching for unlikely conjunctions, juxtapositions, and parallels between texts, movements, images, songs, videos, and rhythms. For this year’s Parades for FIAC, the Mona Bismarck American Center presents his internationally acclaimed work “Not About Everything”.

His performance calls our attention to issues that evoke a world larger than his contained little circle: desperation, endurance, government policy, celebrities, virtuosity, or metaphysical problems. Endlessly spinning around in the center of a shifting network of ideas, Daniel Linehan creates an inverted black hole, a space of disorienting vertigo, but also a space of thoughtful reflection where all these ideas can flow and resonate.
